| Notes |
- Came to Lyons as a young man where he engaged in the practice of law and after Wayne County was formed, April 11, 1823, was the first sheriff. Also at one time held the office of County Clerk and was a law partner of W. H. Adams. He married Maria Melvin, a relative of Mr., Adams, whom he met while she was visiting at the Adams' home, which is now (1941) the Catholic parish house. He was interested in organizing the Parish of Grace Church and was one of the wardens elected at that time.
