 Arthur Howell Jameson 1875-1951

Arthur Jameson was Deputy County Treasurer for Monroe County, New York. He, Lucile and the children resided at 93 Jefferson Street in Rochester, New York.

In the late 1920’s Arthur and Lucile acquired a “country” home at 84 Palmer Road in Riga, New York. They called the house “Thiseldo, an appellation that stuck when Lucile referred to it as “this-will-do” when originally looking at the place. This was their summer home for many years, which they improved over a period of many years before eventually moving there permanently. Eventually they sold their Rochester home to their son Daniel, Arthur maintaining a ‘weekday’ room there until he retired. After retirement “Thiseldo” became the Jameson’s permanent home.

The house was original owned by William Elmer before Arthur and Lucile bought it in 1825 and was considerably smaller then, before they made extensive improvements, including indoor plumbing and central heating. The Elmer's were part of both Arthur and Lucile's Howell family, specifically the maternal side of Lucile's grandparents.
