There is considerable confusion about who is who in the 1831 census of three (3) Jamieson families living next to each other in the Town of Movanagher, Kilrea, County Londonderry[1] when compared to what is separately known about these families.

^ The above table represents what is best known about this William and Elizabeth (O'Neil) Jamieson family family, as it existed at the time of the 1831 census. However, some of the data regarding the children is critically confusing and could be misleading. This confusion could either prove or disprove this family as that enumerated.
There were two more Jamieson families, adjacent to this (above) known family, One is a Jonathan Jamieson and the other is a Hugh Jamieson, of which apart from what little the 1831 census provides, we know nothing. It is reasonable to assume these three families are closely connected, probably brothers.
Note: Special recognition must go to Nancy (Nan) Flickinger for her wonderful Census Analytical Tool, from which our graphic is based. Without her help and inspiration this page would not exist as it does.
