Wright Family Bible

The original owner and creator of this bible is unknown. Although it covers more than one generation and appears to have entries in more than one handwriting, it is most likely this was originally the personal bible of Owen and Mary (Garber) Wright, or that of someone in his immediate family. All but one of the entries refer to him, his parents, his siblings and/or his children. Or, it may have originally been the bible of David and Elizabeth (Wintersteen) Wright, Owen’s father, and then handed down to Owen's family where they added their family updates. It was then most likely passed down by him to his daughter Peggy (Ruby Jane) Wright, as it eventually ended up with one of her Bingham grandchildren's family.

The bible is in poor condition. It was found in the late 1980's in a high humidity wet condition, with a fair amount of mold. The four handwritten family record pages are in the middle of the book. They are badly torn and falling apart to the touch, yet surprisingly still intact. This bible was first transcribed in the early 1990's and these digital scans were made in March of 2008 by John A. Jameson, the current owner.
