This arrangement was very difficult for my grandmother and her hope was to be family again. My dad and his sister saw each other at least once a year during his childhood. My dad did not talk much about his childhood but did keep in contact with his sister until his death in 1982. He and Margaret saw each other at least four times in their adult life. My father traveled three times to east coast and Margaret traveled only once to Arizona. Her husband had some mental health issues and would not travel by plane, bus, or train. | Family: Robert Miller JAMESON / Clara W. Wood (F3017)

831 | There are several possible George "Jamesoune" births listed on the Scottish National Records (ScotlandsPeople) website. Two (2) of these, both born in 1604 and both born in Edinburgh, are the best possible fits. It is difficult to know if either of these is the George Jamesone, father of these children as listed in their births records. Recorded births for this period and anything older are quite rare, so the likelihood of our George even having his birth recorded is slim. | Jamesoune, George (I7940)
832 | There has always been considerable debate as to the accuracy of this event for this person. It has long been assumed that the Wisconsin death reported in 1873, was for Elizabeth (Wintersteen) Wright, most likely because of the proximity of known children in nearby counties and no other explanation of this Elizabeth (Wintersteen) Wright's death elsewhere. Many believe this was not in fact Elizabeth (Wintersteen) Wright, but someone else entirely. See a more detailed explanation here. | WINTERSTEEN, Elizabeth (I47)

835 | There is a burial listing in the Minneopa Cemetery in Mankato for a Margaret Ellen Evans. It appears that this lady is the wife of Reverend William Edward Evans who is buried in the same cemetery but there is a discrepancy in her birth year. The 1900 census of Mankato, Blue Earth Co., MN states that she was born in Jun 1864. The cemetery listing reflects a birth year of Jun 1863. | Hughes, Margaret Ellen (I6763)
836 | There is a confusion concerning Phebe Jane Howell's name. A 'Jane' (Howell) shows up on the 1860 and 1870 census living with David and Eliza Howell. It is quite possible this Phebe was known by her middle name, Jane, so as not to confuse her with Phebe Adelia (daughter of David & Eliza and cousin to 'Jane) within the same household. 'Jane' disappears and a 'Jennie P.' Howell shows up for the first time (as such) in the 1880 census (after her uncle David had died) living with Eliza, William Henry, Edwin and Phebe A. Confusion is compounded in that she is listed as a sister, her age as 30 and her place of birth as Michigan. It is likely that the ages and birth dates are simply wrong (Edwin's age is also wrong on this census). Jennie P. Howell is buried with David W. Howell (her brother and son of Stephen and Phebe) in Mt. Rest cemetery in Bergen, New York. Her death certificate also lists her parents as Stephen and Phebe. These facts confirm her parentage. It is therefore very likely Phebe J. is Phebe Jane (or possibly Jane Phebe) who later became known as Jennie P. Her death certificate does however list her birth place as Michigan, probably an error in reporting by a survivor. | HOWELL, Phebe Jane (I840)

This is not correct. We know of no other Hannah Jameson (b.1800) of Dunbarton and we know of no Abijah Throwbridge in Dunbarton. Furthermore E.O.Jameson in his book, "The Jamesons in America" say's of this Hannah Jameson (p.321) "This daughter was unmarried. She remained with her widowed mother in Dunbarton, NH, then made her home with her sister, Mrs. Orcutt, in Chester NH, and later with her niece, Mrs. Sarah Sargent, in Amherst, NH, where she died June 22, 1878, on her 78th birthday." | JAMESON, Hannah (I3189)

846 | There is confusion as to place of death. However, all accounts have January 1778 as date of death. Isaac died while in the army. Most accounts have his place of death as Framingham, MA. This is questionable given that he was in the army at the time of his death and he died during the Revolutionary War. Framingham may be given only because it is convenient (that was his home at the time). Some accounts have his place of death as Valley Forge, PA. This is also unlikely and probably listed only because the date of his death is the same as the date of significant hardship at Valley Forge. No record however can be found of his death there or of him ever being there. One account has him dying at Saratoga, NY. This too is unlikely as the battles in Saratoga were in September and October of 1777. He is listed however, as having been part of those 1777 Saratoga battles. | HEMINGWAY, Isaac (I1295)
847 | There is considerable confusion about the various wives of this John Gould. Including a "Mary," "Grace" and " Joanna." However all accounts include "Joanna." There are equally various accounts of children with each of his wives and which children fit with which wife. However no account of Daniel (b.1653) is given for any other wife than "Joanna." | Gould, John (I3398)
848 | There is considerable confusion as to exactly who this Mary Doherty is and where she is buried. Some have her as the wife of Albert McGeorge (1893-1990). This is supported with burial information at the same cemetery, listing her as Mary McGeorge, d. 1976 and buried in the same Lot as two "Albert McGeorges" one their son Albert Jr., dying in 1977, the other is the husband, in 1990. Separately, there is a different (FAG # 205527041) listing for a Mary Doherty with a different Lot and grave Number. An Obituary in the 1990 "Boston Globe" for Albert McGeorge states that his wife was "Mary Doherty." The burial information (Find a Greave) for the Mary Doherty/McGeorges (above) may have been interpretations gathered at a later date by different submitters, from both grave side cemetery visit(s) and from just official records created at different times. It seems highly likely these various Mary's are the same Mary Doherty McGeorge. | Doherty, Mary C. (I7999)
