Notes

Lived in Kentucky and Iowa before moving to Chicago where he was a prominent Attorney with the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Rail Road. He was president of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad from 1873-1874, then headquartered in Boston, MA. Established the Henry Strong Educational Foundation to help deserving college students.
Owned extensive properties including the Republic Building in Chicago and others in several other states. Maintained homes in Montecito, CA, Lake Geneva, WI, and in Chicago during his latter life.
